TRADING STANDARDS ACCREDITED APPLICATION FORM CHECKLIST

Please ensure that you upload all the required documents with your completed on-line application form. This will help speed up the assessment process

If you are unable to upload your papers please complete the on-line application form and make payment. You must supply the documents by an alternative means. You can send as an attached document or a good quality image of the document to tsaccredited@telford.gov.uk or post a copy to Trading Standards Accredited Team, Public Protection, Telford & Wrekin Council, Telford TF3 4NT

Please note that we will not begin the assessment process until we have received copies all the necessary paperwork from you.

  1. Application Form – please ensure that you fully complete the application form.
  2. Payment – £100+VAT. This is required as part of the on-line process so please have your debit or credit card ready. Please note that 50% of this payment will be retained should your application be unsuccessful. This is to cover administration costs.

    3. Documents relevant to your business. This will not be applicable to all businesses but could be:

    Public Liability Insurance (covering a minimum of £2 million)

    Employers Liability Insurance (covering a minimum of £5 million)

    Professional Indemnity Insurance

    Proof of qualifications

    Registrations – e.g. Gas Safe, Part P electrical, FENSA

    Quality assurances e.g. Kitemark, FSA

    Membership certificates – e.g. trade bodies and associations

    4. Utility bill or similar – to show name and current address (if this isn’t already confirmed in documents submitted in 3 above)

    5. Eligibility Check:

    • Have you been trading for at least 6 months?
    • Do you have a retail premise or conduct your business in Telford & Wrekin?

     6. Any additional information which you feel might support your application.      

You must read and agree to the Scheme's Code of Practice before proceeding with your application. This should be agreed by a person having authority to commit the business to the Code.
